Notes for Oral Assessment Grading

"Ums" and pauses are normal. Listen for thinking, not polish.
Oral ≠ Written. Students won't speak in grammatical sentences. That's okay.
Focus on reasoning. Can they explain WHY, not just WHAT?
Listen for growth. Compare Week 4 to Week 1—celebrate progress.
